I have loved and learned many different crafts over my lifetime - beginning as a pre-schooler when my mom would draw a flower on a piece of cotton and show me how to "embroider" around it. It was just to keep me out of her way while she did the housework, but it instilled in me a huge love for creativity. I learned to knit from a lovely Scottish lady when I was 18, and I learned to crochet in the 60's by following an instructional pattern. I've always enjoyed sewing, and made my own clothes for years. I began quilting nearly 20 years ago, and now have been sewing purses, totes and backpacks. I love that I can make a purse or backpack in a couple of days, rather than the time it takes to make an entire quilt, particularly if you hand stitch it.
I'm really enjoying the creativity of making purses and bags - and making them with beautiful, sometimes funky, patterned fabrics.
And now I've spent too much time on the computer and need to get back to my happy place - my sewing room. Bye for now!
